MANNHEIM, Tuesday, July 22nd, 2014, 2:30pm – 3:00pm
bitstars founder and CEO Mostafa Akbari gave a brief presentation about Augmented and Virtual Reality at the conjoint convention of the 8. IAK Laser-scanning and VR in Plant Engineering and the 2. IAK Virtual Engineering in Process-, Machine- and Plant-techniques session. Through a demonstration Mostafa explains the 3D detection with mobile devices. In consequence of the widening circulation of Oculus Rift and Cardboard, Augmented and Virtual Reality gain popularity, which results in decreasing implementation costs. The bitstars solution makes the development of AR and VR content a lot easier and even enables the implementation of Augmented and Virtual Reality in SmartHome projects.
The event was organized by the German Mechanical and Plant Engineering Association (VDMA) Baden-Würtemberg, the Administration Union for Supporting Mechanical and Plant Engineering Saxony-Anhalt (FASA) and the Virtual Dimension Center (VDC) Fellbach for the first time to gather conjoint interests and enforce the technical Exchange. The keynote of the event was the application of 3D-models in plant life cycles considering AR and VR solutions.
Besides the representatives of the three organizers, companies such as the BASF SE, SAP AG, kubit GmbH, Z&M 3D-Welt GmbH and RE’FLEKT GmbH participated in the event.
